TOMMY BLACK Host of “The Take-ova” Saturday 6p-9p and Sunday 6p-10p
Born and raised in New Jersey, Tommy Black developed a love for music at a young age. Growing up listening to mix shows on the stations once known as 98.7 KISS and WBLS out of New York, Tommy has always had the desire to be on the radio. Not until attending Lincoln University in Jefferson City Missouri did the opportunity present itself.
Tommy spent much of his free time at his college station KJLU. While there, he learned the basics of radio, but as an Accounting major, life took Tommy in a different direction. In 2007, Tommy revisited his desire to be in radio. After enrolling in broadcasting school, he applied for an Internship at WGCI-FM in Chicago. His energy and persistence quickly caught the attention of management. Tommy was hired as the producer of the number one afternoon drive show in Chicago. (Riot Radio with Tony Sculfield) Within a month, Tommy was offered the opportunity of a lifetime, which he did not hesitate to accept. An on-air position for Friday and Saturday Nights.
Tommy is completely dedicated to his work on-air and behind the scenes at WGCI.
Tommy has a passion for motivating children. He is a member of the Merrillville Pop Warner board of directors also a football coach for the organization. In his spare time, he enjoys bowling, Madden, and Grey Goose on the Rocks!
KANYE WEST has released his video for "Power". It's pretty arty and weird . . . which probably isn't all that shocking. It begins with a still shot of Kanye, and slowly pans out . . . showing him in a Renaissance era-style painting.
--Oh, and it's only 94 seconds long. (--You can check it out, here . . .)
