Justin Bieber fans cutting themselves over alleged pot use

According to TMZ, Miley Cyrus is trying to put a stop to a new sick trend that's emerged on the Internet, involving self-described Justin Bieber fans cutting their bodies after seeing photos of the singer allegedly smoking pot.

The website reported Monday that the hashtag #cut4bieber has become the top U.S. trend on Twitter, after people began posting photos featuring bleeding arms, allegedly the result of "cutting" by disappointed fans looking to pressure the singer into giving up his pot habit.

Someone has even allegedly started a website encouraging Bieber fans to cut themselves and post photos of the carnage, until Bieber gives up marijuana for good.

On Monday, Cyrus weighed in on the troubling trend, retweeting a messaging saying "#cut4bieber? Cutting is NOT something to joke about. There are people who are actually suffering from self-harm, this is so disrespectful."

TMZ ran photos last week of Bieber, allegedly from a Jan. 2 party at a Newport Beach motel, in which Bieber seemed to be holding a smoldering blunt.

Sources at the party told TMZ that Bieber's buddy, rapper Lil Twist, was there too. He was allegedly with Bieber last week when a photographer was hit and killed while snapping pictures of Bieber's car in Southern California.
