Corey Brooks and New Beginnings Church shaken by two fatal shootings
A South Side church that works to stop the violence on Chicago's streets was shaken by two shooting deaths over the weekend.
Pastor Corey Brooks of New Beginnings Church lost a close friend to gun violence. The brother of two church members was also gunned down.
Brooks gained national attention for his bold efforts to find alternatives for young people. His efforts have been paying off, a haven for drugs and crime has been leveled and a new community center is in the works.
Brooks said he is greiving but he is not deterred by the shootings.
