After 5 years of being away from the Big screen, Chris Tucker is back! Here he is talking about his latest movie, ‘Silver Linings Playbook,’ also starring big name actors like Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper.
Here’s some of the interview:
Q. How did you get involved in the project?
Chris Tucker: I read the script and thought it’d be a good role for me. Great director, David O. Russell who directed The Fighter, and also just a great cast...The role has got a lot of depth to it, it’s an important role in the movie. I play a character named Danny, who’s really good friends with Bradley Cooper’s character Pat. Well, they meet in a mental institution, so they become friends, and my character is real positive, real fun, and shows up in the movie out of nowhere and it’s just a great character for me, and it’s different from what people normally see me do - comedies, and it’s dramatic, so it was a lot of fun.
Q. What upcoming projects can you share with us?
Chris Tucker: I just did my stand-up comedy movie, that’s coming out early next year, you know, I grew up watching Richard Pryor do stand-up comedy live and Eddie Murphy's Raw as well so I filmed it as a film and it’s coming out in theaters early next year. I did it in Atlanta, Georgia, my hometown, and I’m excited about it, it’s a long-life dream to do it, and I started out doing stand-up comedy, so I went back, about six years ago, started working in the clubs, and went on tour for two years doing theaters and now it’s done and we’re getting it ready to come out early next year in theaters.
