Now that the teachers strike has finally settled down some, teachers can get back to focusing on the students. High schools are now doing more to better prepare students for College.

The National School Boards Association only 57.8 percent attending four-year institutions in the U.S. earned a diploma in less than six years, while just 32.9 percent in two-year schools finish within three years. Students are more likely to drop out during their first year than at any other time. Of freshmen at four-year schools, 21 percent did not continue for a second year. In community colleges, 36 percent of freshmen failed to return.

Some things that are to be improved greatly are; adding more high level mathematical courses, advance placement classes and better academic advising. We need to give our children all the resources they can in order for them to achieve so this is something great!
