Atlanta Rapper who was rumored to get a whopping 2 milli record deal. He is investing to take his ‘Gold’ brand to the next level. He has gotten the idea to start a clothing line called “Gold Gang Gear.” He says that he might even open up a store, but has no plan to do more fashion than music, but if the fashion pops off and he has to take from music, he will do what he has to do.
When I interviewed him on air 107.5 WGCI in Chicago he even expressed to me that he worked at Atlanta boutique for 4 years, even after his hit song “All Gold Everything” went national:
“I ran that boutique for, like, three or four years. Top of the Underground was a streetwear store. I love everything that has to do with fashion, though. It’s not just streamwork for me.”
On what was his inspiration behind “Gold Gang Gear”:
“It’s all a part of the marketing and business plan behind music. When you get a chance to do something great, you got to capitalize on it. And capitalizing on it basically incorporates all the things that go along with it. You gotta have songs, you gotta have a movement, you gotta have people drawing portraits of you or whatever. So hey, why not make some clothes? If someone would take the time to draw a mural of you, then they’ll take the time to buy a shirt, a good shirt, you know?”
