Reality Star and Entrepreneur Toya Wright, who HATES being called "Lil Wayne's Baby Momma" was arrested in College Park, Georgia earlier this week. Toya was initially pulled over for speeding, when the cop noticed Toya had a warrant out for her arrest. Toya is not a criminal, the tickets were for failure to appear at a recent court date. The same night Wright was taken to a nearby police station and booked until the next morning on a $290 bond. Mind you all of this happened on her husband's birthday, that has to suck! While behind bars, Toya says the way the other inmates were treated was so bad, that she wants to become an advocate for better treatment of prisoners. Toya posted a statement on Instagram:
Wow!!! It’s true I was jailed due to a old ticket that I thought I had taken care of but it was not. I try my best to take care of that sort of thing quickly but some how the ticket slipped through the cracks. I spent a day in jail and I must say that this experience was one of the most devastating of my life. I wouldn’t wish jail time for my worse enemy. Everyone that gets locked up isn’t a danger to the community. Many people that are in jail are just like me for a ticket that was either forgotten or thought to be taken care of. But the way most are treated is inhumane. I never thought in a million years that the kind of things I’ve witnessed went on. The situation was so bad that I don’t even want to leave out the house. After my ordeal I am seriously contemplating being an advocate of better treatment for prisoners. Please believe I’m working on my lightening up my lead foot and if I do mess up and get another ticket, that day it will be taken care of.
After being transported from one jail to another for a freaking traffic ticket. I met some cool and helpful cops at College park Jail. Thank you guys for being so sweet and helpful to me……What a way to celebrate my hubby’s bday.
Again this was all on her husband Memphits' birthday, who I am sure is more than understanding of this altercation. Toya posted a super sweet message on her Instagram before the drama:
“Happy Birthday to a person that is not only my husband, but my best friend too….to the best husband in the world. I feel so blessed to have found true love in your arms. I feel so proud to call you my husband. May you be blessed with all that you have ever dreamt of today and always. I love you @billiondollarboybizz#mysag #love #TheWrights”
The next day Toya was seen with her friends Monica, Tiny, and Jazze Pha in good spirits TMZ
People confirms that actor Taye Diggs recently seen in box office hit "Best Man Holiday" and his wife of 10 years Idina Menzel have mutually decided to split.
"Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs have jointly decided to separate at this time," reps for the couple tell People. "Their primary focus and concern is for their son. We ask that you respect their privacy during this time."
The acting duo met on stage while co-starring in the original Broadway production of "Rent" in the mid 1990s. The interracial couple jumped the brook 2003, and welcomed their son Walker in 2009.
Menzel spoke openly about the struggles in her marriage earlier this year:
"We work at it. I'm not going to glamorize it or glorify it -- we go through tough times like everybody else, but we love each other very much. We try not to be away from each other for more than two weeks at a time, and we try to find new ways to communicate."
Mendel is most recently notable for her portrayal of Shelby Corcoran, the biological mother of Lea Michele's character Rachel Berry, on the Fox musical comedy-drama series Glee, and as the voice of Queen Elsa in Frozen. Taye says the key to their marriage is good housekeeping, and the best thing about being married is "having your best friend by your side constantly [and] knowing that someone has your back." All of course before the split.
RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that The Butler star, 44, recently tied the knot for a fourth time, this time to his latest girlfriend — of just one month.
Since then, he’s been flaunting the woman, a Canadian named Miranda, to his closest friends and family, even bringing her along to red carpet events including The Best Man Holiday premiere in Los Angeles on Nov. 5 — where they both wore wedding bands!
The Oscar nominee even called his ex-wife Michelle Ghent to brag about the news.
She’s the same woman who claimed in July that he “sucker punched” her and choked her while on vacation in Costa Rica.
“Terrence called up Michelle to tell her about the marriage and taunt her about it,” a source close to the situation revealed to Radar. “She needs to cut him off for good.”
Though a representative for Howard couldn’t be reached for comment, a second source close to the actor confirmed the sudden marriage and laughed that it was “not out of character.”
“It’s another one of his outlandish moves… he only knew and/or dated her for about a month!” they said.
A lawsuit has been filed against Drake in Chicago that alleges the rapper and his company, OVO Touring, have taken over $200,000 from a concert promoter without paying them back.
According to documents filed in Cook County Circuit Court on December 10, Status Entertainment and its partner company Show-n-Off Entertainment were in contact with Drake and his representatives for more than a year with the intent to plan a concert. The first attempt occurred in March of 2012, where both parties initially agreed to a fee of $250,000 for Drake to perform at the UIC Pavilion. Status Entertainment claims they transferred $100,000 over to Drake and his company. However, the show would be cancelled. OVO Touring said they would return the money, but no transaction occurred during that time period.
Later that year, in June, Drake performed at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre. That show was planned with a different promoter and grossed between $340,000 to over $1 million based on ticket pricing. Status says they then got back in contact with OVO Touring to reschedule their concert in Chicago for October 18, 2012. The company claims another $100,000 was sent to Drake, but then his representatives replied, "We changed the price because our value went up."
Status Entertainment is now suing for breach of contract, unjust enrichment, fraud and violation of the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act, as well as Quantum meruit. They are asking for $202,800 along with court costs and interest.
An excerpt of the lawsuit can be read below.
During these negotiations, Drake experienced a meteoric rise to the top of the music charts achieving worldwide fame and fortune. Instead of honoring their obligations, Defendants knowingly and intentionally breached the Agreements and refused to schedule the concert unless Plaintiffs gave them more money due to Drake's newfound fame. Defendants have admitted that they did not foresee Drake's success and attempted to change the terms of the Agreements because they believed that they had a more valuable asset in Drake then when the first Agreement with Plaintiffs was agreed upon. Defendants then fraudulently contracted another company to put on a Drake concert in the Chicago area in June of 2012 and profited handsomely as a result and to the detriment of Plaintiffs.
The label’s creative director Riccardo Tisci said that, though unexpected, Badu’s casting in the campaign makes perfect sense since she was one of the inspirations behind the collection it features.
“Erykah, she’s an icon—come on!” Tisci said by phone from Paris. “What I want to do with my advertising campaign is spread the love. Already now it’s been three seasons that I’ve been using people that express something—they are great artists, or beautiful women, or stylish women, or models that I really believe in. It’s kind of a family portfolio.”
He went on to say:
“She’s one of the most stylish women I’ve met in my life,” he said. “She’s got such a good sense of proportion, of colors.”
The exciting decision follows a fashion season with a noticeable uptick in the use of models of color on the runway.
“There was a lot of talk this season in fashion,” Tisci said. “Me, I was one of the persons who ended up not being touched by this. I discovered Joan Smalls, I discovered Maria [Borges]. I discovered a lot of black girls, and I’ve been always supporting them. For me, I grew up in a family and I grew up in a culture, an education, that we all are the same.”
He hopes that other designers will take note and include more women of color in their campaign.
“I hope so,” he said. “It’s 2013. Everybody’s being so cool about Instagram, about Facebook, any media—everybody’s being so open. At the end of the day, why are not so many black girls or Latin girls in shows? When you have an American president who is black! When I see this happening, it’s quite sad, I think. People can be so avant-garde, so advanced, but actually not, because people are still making differences between skin color.”
Bruce Jenner is no stranger to cosmetic enhancements.
His latest move? Undergoing surgery to reduce the appearance his adams apple.
Bruce met with a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon yesterday for a consultation for a procedure called a Laryngeal Shave – which smooths out the Adam’s Apple.
When asked by TMZ, he says his reasoning is simply because “I just never liked my trachea.”
According to sources, the surgery has been scheduled for early next year.
Jenner later called TMZ back to clarify — he says he initially went to the plastic surgeon because the basal cell carcinoma that was removed from his nose in September left a large scar that didn’t heal well. He wanted plastic surgery for his nose, and says while he was there he consulted the doc on the Laryngeal Shave.
Miguel is mixing business with pleasure and according to him, it is working.
HipHollywood caught up with the 28-year-old singer/producer at this year’s Grammy Nominations Concert and asked about the news that he is producing an upcoming album for his girlfriend, Nazanin Mandi.
Miguel’s longtime girlfriend has worked both successfully on television and in modeling and made a big splash into fame in October when GQ India featured her; giving her the title of “GQ Babe.”
When asked about the difficulty of producing an album for somebody he is in a romantic relationship with, this is what Miguel had to say:
You know the honest truth is, this experience has been in that sense, one of the most liberating and the most fun because we already feel akin so we have an understanding and that whole rhythm came a lot more naturally than even what I could have expected.
“You fight so hard to get in with artists and to sit with them and try to get in their head and when you feel like you finally find some connection and you get on a rhythm, thats when the music really comes and the songs kinda write themselves,” he continued.
While the name and release date of the album have not yet gone public this will definitely be an interesting project. Nazanin was once a top-35 contender on American Idol and the internet is full of videos of her singing.
It’s officially over. On Friday afternoon, Khloe Kardashian filed for divorce from Lamar Odom after four years of marriage. It’s not a shocking development considering the couple’s turbulent 2013. Lamar is reportedly battling a crack addiction, and admitted during a drunken freestyle rap to cheating on Khloe multiple times.
Khloe cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for her divorce. The reality TV star has reportedly asked the judge to legally drop “Odom” from her name, and is not asking for any spousal support.
