performed “Diamonds” on stage Sunday night before she accepted the show’s first ever ICON Award from her mother. The hair was wrapped in what’s called a doobie with studded bobby pins holding it in place.
Via EnStarz reports:
In the statement, the unnamed manager wrote, “I am writing to express my extreme frustration and anger over the blatant theft of an image that my former and I cultivated…The image that we were trying to run with [was] what Patwa knew from the streets, which was the doobie wrap. She wore it proudly with pinned jeweled pins to signify she was a Queen and this was her ghetto crown.”
The manager went on to say that in 2010 he and his client posted a number of videos with Patwa’s hair wrapped in the doobie. Patwa was also offered a development deal with Roc Nation, which is also Rihanna’s current label, if she agreed to “soften” her image and overall sound. However, she and the manager refused and walked away.
“I’ve never told [Patwa] but I always wondered what if we had softened up and changed that hair. Fast forward to 11/24/13 and who do I see grace my flat screen while sitting in my modest one bedroom apartment wearing a doobie wrap with jeweled pins at the AMAs,” the manager worte. “Roc Nation’s own Ri Ri. I honestly felt violated.”
The letter also revealed that Rihanna and Patwa met in 2011. The Barbados singer allegedly complimented Patwa’s doobie hair and asked who styled it.
“I just find it very insulting that something we brought to those people was too ‘ghetto.’ But now RIhanna can accept awards while proudly displaying it,” the letter read. “I am really hurt by this and wanted to scream.”
Yaaaaaay! Congrats to Kelly Rowland! She is now engaged to boyfriend and manager Tim Witherspoon who popped the question. She recently flashed her blinged out ring on an Instagram video. Check out the photo here for yourself:

Tamar Braxton and K. Michelle’s beef pretty much started after Tamar possibly shaded the former “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” star on Twitter for accusing Memphitz of abusing her while they dated. Since then there’s been plenty of Twitter beefs between them and K. Michelle seems to think the real issue is Tamar is really just intimidated of her and even insecure about her music career.
K. Michelle says she’s done discussing the feud as long as Tamar doesn’t send any more shots her way, and it appears Tamar may be feeling the same way.
The Braxton sister and “The Real” talk show host recently took to her Twitter account to tell her fans she’s over people asking her about K. Michelle in her interviews.

Jay Z launched his BNY SCC designer collection with Barneys New York on Wednesday. Later in the evening, Beyoncé was by her man’s side at the launch event at the flagship store on Madison Avenue. There was little fanfare as the couple held court with some of the designers.
Mrs. Carter also showed support for her man on Instagram, modeling items from the New York-inspired collection including a Moncler puffer varsity jacket ($2,300), python-brimmed leather “Brooklyn” cap ($875), Elder Statesman cashmere ski mask ($700), and gold New York City ring ($12,500).
Following claims that Barneys employees racially profiled black customers, Jay Z decided to move forward with the collaboration, but with new terms. As part of the deal, Barneys will donate 100% of sales from the BNY SCC collection to The Shawn Carter Foundation.
Jay Z vowed to tackle the controversy head on. “I am in a unique position to use my voice to affect change to this disturbing issue,” he said in a statement. “I will not leave the outcome to others.”
A larger event was planned to kick off the collaboration, but was canceled in the aftermath of the allegations.
